Online EMDR Therapy in Burlington, Vermont and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Compassionate trauma therapy that heals from the inside, out.
Life doesn’t look or feel the way you wish it did.
You might be here because you’re exhausted from always being on edge. Maybe you’re struggling with anxiety that won’t let up, panic attacks that seem to come out of nowhere, or a constant sense of overwhelm. You might feel stuck in old patterns — shutting down, people-pleasing, overthinking everything — and you’re tired of pretending you’re “fine.”
You’ve tried to push through, hold it together, stay busy. But it’s not working anymore. You know something deeper is going on, and you’re ready to actually deal with it.
I’m Alexa, and I work with women and LGBTQIA+ folks who are carrying the weight of trauma, whether it’s one major event or years of chronic stress, fear, or feeling unseen. I offer individual teletherapy using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) a powerful 8 phase approach that helps your mind and body heal from the inside out.
I show up as a real person in the room — someone who can listen with compassion, offer grounded guidance, and laugh (or swear) when it’s needed. I believe therapy doesn’t have to be cold or clinical to be deeply transformative.
If this resonates, I’d love to connect with you. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can begin to heal at your own pace.

Maybe you constantly second-guess yourself including replaying conversations, worrying you said the wrong thing, or feeling like you’re always falling short. Maybe you overwork, over-give, or try to make everyone else comfortable, even when it hurts you. Or maybe you feel numb, disconnected, or like no matter what you do, it’s never enough.
These aren’t personality flaws — they’re survival strategies. Many of us internalized the belief that we’re not enough because of what we’ve lived through: trauma, unsafe relationships, ongoing stress, discrimination, or growing up without the emotional support we needed.
That belief can get stuck in your nervous system, but it doesn’t have to stay there. Therapy can help you unlearn those old narratives and start embracing new adaptive beliefs.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t what happened but how it keeps showing up. You might get hit with intense memories out of nowhere, have nightmares that leave you shaken, or suddenly feel like you’re back in a moment you thought was long behind you.
These experiences can be disorienting and scary. You might feel broken, or wonder why you can’t just move on. But you’re not broken — your mind and body are still holding onto pain that hasn’t had the chance to fully heal.
Therapy can help you gently process those stuck places so the past doesn’t keep getting in the way of the present.

You might feel on edge all the time or jumpy, restless, unable to relax. Maybe your body shuts down: you feel foggy, frozen, or totally disconnected. You might have trouble sleeping, clench your jaw, get random aches and pains, or feel like you're “too sensitive” to things others brush off.
These reactions can be confusing, especially when you don’t have a clear reason why they’re happening. But they’re not random and your nervous system is doing its best to protect you based on what it’s been through.
In therapy, we make sense of these body responses with compassion and help your system learn that it’s safe to settle again.
I’m Alexa.

Whether you're dealing with trauma from recent events or long-past painful experiences, EMDR can be an effective treatment for trauma-related issues. It can help in processing distressing memories and restoring emotional balance and resilience.

EMDR isn’t just for big, traumatic events, it can also be deeply effective in healing the painful beliefs we carry about ourselves. If you struggle with low self-esteem, EMDR can help uncover where those messages started and gently shift how you relate to yourself. Together, we work to process the experiences that shaped these beliefs, so you can begin to feel more confident, worthy, and grounded in who you are.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an widely researched and evidence based 8 phase treatment. EMDR counseling focuses on thoughts, beliefs and body sensations in order to make sense of past painful experiences while integrating newly learned adaptive information. During the trauma reprocessing phase of EMDR, bilateral stimulation is used in a process similar to REM sleep to assist clients in moving through past experiences.
